Stage Two Baby Foods:
6 to 9 months
To your stage one foods you can now add in:
Mango, Nectarines, Grapes, Cherries, Blueberries, Raspberries, Pumpkin, Melon, Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Spinach, and Beets.
I always used frozen spinach or flash cooked fresh spinach. You drop the fresh spinach in boiling water for 2 minutes. Take it out and drain it. Then just puree like normal. Some sites say to wait on spinach until they are 10 months because of the nitrates in the veggie, so it is totally up to you and your pediatrician as to what you do for your baby!
When using pumpkin, you can buy the pie pumpkins and roast them like you do your butternut or acorn squash, but I usually just bought canned pumpkin. Just make sure you don't get pumpkin pie filling!
Grapes and Melon are two of those foods that you just puree without cooking, but with that being said, they both make a lot of juice, so use them as mixers for your morning cereal, or strain them and dilute with water for their sippy cup! My son LOVED watermelon juice!
A spice you might try in small amounts: cinnamon
